Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior yoga experience?

No! You can be brand new to yoga and still have great benefits from private instruction. Becky will accommodate any experience level.

Can I practice yoga with limited mobility?

Absolutely, yes. Private yoga is perfect for those who have special movement needs and for those who have trouble feeling included in a public group class. Yoga can be learned seated or even lying down.

How can I schedule a session?

Reach out to Becky via email at Becky.kunnath@gmail.com or fill out the contact Becky form.

Do I need a special space in my house?

You do not need a special space, however, depending on the type of yoga you want to practice, you will need room for a yoga mat or chair and space on each side to raise your arms.

Do I need any equipment?

A good quality yoga mat is essential. Yoga blocks and a yoga strap are very useful. It is difficult to replicate blocks with household items, but you can use a belt or scarf in place of a strap. Becky recommends the products linked above, but you can use any mat that you already have. In some cases, Becky uses weights, balls any other physical therapy equipment already in your home.

What do I need for virtual sessions?

You will need a computer with Zoom downloaded. You will use Becky’s Zoom account, so there will be no additional charge to download Zoom. Your computer will also need a reliable Internet connection and a video camera. Becky will need to be able to see you clearly throughout your session.

Can I meet Becky before committing to a session?

Of course! Becky would love to chat with you about your needs and determine whether you are the right fit for each other. Fill out the Contact Becky form with your preferred date and time for a free, no-pressure 15 minute consultation.

What can I expect during the first session?

Whether in person or virtual, Becky will ask you about your goals and history. Everything is confidential. You can expect some movement in this first session, though some of it will be for assessment purposes. Becky does not judge you based on your skill level or capabilities, the movement assessment is purely to inform the next steps in your yoga journey.
